Missions
The United Methodist Church is a global denomination that opens hearts, opens minds and opens doors through active engagement with our world. The mission of The United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
John Wesley and the early Methodists placed primary emphasis on Christian living, on putting faith and love into action. This emphasis on what Wesley referred to as "practical divinity" has continued to be a hallmark of United Methodism today
West End has many missions they support. A few include:
A very important mission in our community is CCM, or Cooperative Community Ministries. CCM helps the community by feeding the hungry and homeless. We support CCM, by donating food and time by serving food to the needy.
CCM NEEDS FOR May: Canned Fruits however, non-perishable food of all types is always welcome
We also support the Disaster Relief Efforts through the United Methodist Church. These include hurricanes, floods, tornados, or any natural disasters that may occur, no matter where it happens.
We are a part of the Thomasville Community Missions, which is made up of the United Methodist Churches in Thomasville to support the needs of our community.
West End also offers a Clothes Closet one to two Saturdays per month.
The church does monthly missions to support other local missions in our area. They include God's Will, Inc, Hospice of Davidson County, school supplies for school children during the summer, and a mitten tree to collect toboggans, scarves and gloves for area children in the winter.
